Loch Ossian
Corrour and Loch Ossian
This is a remote area on the fringes of Rannoch Moor to the east of Fort William. It can only be accessed on foot or by the railway that connects Glasgow to Fort William at the remote railway halt of Corrour. The area includes some remote munros and corbetts; Beinn na Lap, Leum Ulleim, Carn Dearg and Sgor Choinnich surround the Loch and our accommodation will put these hills within easy reach. There are also opportunities for low level walking for those not wanting strenuous walks or in the case of poor weather.
I have secured exclusive use of Loch Ossian Youth Hostel for the weekend two weeks before Easter (Easter is almost as late in 2025 as it can be, and having the meet in early April makes it possible to better space out the early season Adventure Out weekend meets including the annual Mallorca meet.) The YH offers basic but comfortable and economic accommodation.
People intending to take part in this event should read GOC's document Safety in the Hills.
Photos are from previous visits to Loch Ossian including Easter 2018.
