This circular walk of about 7 miles explores the two villages Letcombe Regis and Letcombe Bassett, Oxon, along with the entrenched Letcombe Brook which formerly rose in a grand valley above L Bassett, now dry, only to appear at the watercress bed springs below. We will also explore the links with the author Thomas Hardy and his novel "Jude the Obscure" following the route Jude and Arabella walk, along with the spot (in fiction) they "had the kiss". Possibility of at least a pint after (food if members wish) after.
