Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands – Western Midlands Group Weekend 2027 Dates for your diary
The Western Midlands Group Weekend away 2027 will be closer to home. The town of Leek is referred to as the "Queen of the Moorlands" and is the main town situated in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Details of the individual events for the weekend will appear in spring 2027. The first event, on the Friday, will be a a garden visit to one of the spectacular gardens cared for by the National Trust - Biddulph Grange. Saturday and Sunday walks will range from 8 to 10 miles and take in areas of the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Monday morning walk will be a shorter distance taking in Rudyard Lake. The Staffordshire Moorlands boarder the Peak District but are often overlooked, but the area is well worth the visit.
Leek and the surrounding area have various accommodation options from B&B, AirBnB, Pubs with rooms and Hotels. The Premier Inn is located very close to the town centre. Camping is available at The Hollies, Blackshaw Moor, located about 3 miles from Leek. There is also a Leek Caravan & Camping Club site, also at Blackshaw Moor but a little closer to the town.
There will be a group meal on the Saturday evening, venue to be confirmed in the coming months
If you live in the area or would be travelling from further afield you will be most welcome to join us over the weekend.
If you are planning to attend then please also book onto the individual events/walks when they are published.
