L’Arboc-Vilanova (Sitges) 2026
For one of our Tuesday walk options of GOC goes to Sitges 2026, new for this year, we offer a moderate 10.7 mile linear route from the inland town of L'Arboc to Vilanova i la Geltru. For more photos, taken December 2025, see Google Photos.
By hired minibus or shared taxi we should reach L'Arboc by about 10am. After a short time to explore the town and see La Giralda of l’Arboç, modelled on La Giralda of Seville, we will walk about 2 miles through fields and vineyards and up to the charming historic village of Castellet, with its 10th century castle, public art and views over the Foix reservoir.
From here we follow mostly narrow forest trails another 3 miles or so until we reach the highest section of the route, at about 1,000ft, passing occasional abandoned farmhouses. The grandest of these, Casa Alta, is at around the half-way point of our route and offers a wide open space with fine views for a late lunch stop at around 1.30 or 2pm.
From here we descend along some wide roads and narrower forest trails with fine views toward Vilanova and the sea. About 2 miles from our end point we pass under the highway, and from there through the outer outskirts of the city before passing under the ring road and entering the city itself.
We will pass through the old part of la Geltru before reaching the modern centre of Vilanova, where we will end at the main square. From there it is about a 10 minute walk on to the station for the train back to Sitges, and a wide variety of bars and cafes are available for those that wish to linger for a while first.
Bookings will open on 1 July - please book as early as possible and by Friday 16 October at the latest. Initially free tickets will be limited to 20, the capacity of a hired minibus.
