JOGLE Day 67 Painswick to Wotton Under Edge
We begin our long day on the Cotswold Way with a bumpy start up down up down up. Through the woods on Harefield Hill to Harefield Beacon, round to the next point with a topograph. Into Standish Woods, coming out on Maiden Hill and a steep descend into the valley to cross the railway, the B4008, canal and A419. We are now in Laurie Lee and Cider with Rosie country.
We walk through Middleyard on to the foot of Pen Hill, we turn right at the edge of the woods, before climbing to Nympsfield Long Barrow onwards to a Toposcope and maybe we'll see some gliders. Up and down through Coaley Woods, before a steep descent out of the woods and up the isolated steep peak of Cam Long Down before the descent into Dursley.
Steeply out of Dursley, taking the authorised short cut across Stinchcombe Hill and it's golf course and back down the other side. Through North Nibley and up Nibley Knoll with it's tall monument over 100ft high to William Tyndale, famous for printing the Bible. Over Wotton Hill and finally descending into Wotton Under Edge.
A long day
