Hogmanay in Melrose

Event Details

Hogmanay in Melrose, Scottish Borders

In a departure from our usual trip to the Highlands, we will be celebrating Hogmanay 2022 in the Borders. We have booked a large house, owned by the National Trust for Scotland, in the attractive town of Melrose with its famous abbey.

The accommodation consists of a selection of single, twin and double rooms.  There are good options for walks in the adjacent Eildon Hills and along the River Tweed. Further afield, about 45 minutes drive to the south east, are the Cheviots and, about an hour's drive to the south west near the Grey Mare's Tale waterfall, three Corbetts: Broad Law, Hart Fell and White Coomb.

Bookings will commence on 20 February. You may book either for the first five nights only or for the full seven nights. When booking, please note:

  • If you are booking a double room, the booking is for the room and you should only put 1, not 2, in the relevant box, even though you are booking for two people.
  • If you are booking for you and your partner, or for other people, please state the name of your partner/other people when you book.

The ticket prices are inclusive of communal meals as detailed below.

Refund policy: We make no profit on this type of event; we aim just to cover the cost of the accommodation and food. If the event is under-subscribed we can make a loss. If you need to cancel your booking, we can only offer you a refund if the event is fully subscribed AND someone else can take your place.
