The walk encompasses slightly over half of the 11.25 miles of the Grand Western Canal from Sampford Peverell to the Canal Basin In Tiverton.
There are some excellent views along the way, including clear sight of the brooding Blackdown Hills and a number of picturesque bridges. There is wildlife aplenty including swans, ducks, moor hens, Reed Warblers, Sedge Warblers and the occasional Kingfisher if fortune smiles.
In addition, there's some interesting industrial archaeology at the canal basin itself.
During the walk, there will be a picnic stop and, at the conclusion of the walk, the opportunity for refreshments at one of Tiverton's many cafes.
PLEASE NOTE: Start time is at 10:30am (earlier than normal) to catch the bus.
