Georgian Pershore and the River Avon
Pershore & The River Avon
A delightful circuit from the centre of Georgian Pershore, near the town house of punk phenomenon Toyah Wilcox. Our path from Abbey Park takes us past a crinkle crankle wall towards the ancient stone bridge and wartime artefacts., We then enter Wick Village and see the Manor House. A short optional road walk affords an opportunity to view RHS Pershore College `s Perennial Garden. Following the River Avon footpath westward, an easy ascent takes us into Tiddesley Wood nature reserve. Our route back into town includes a chance to see inside the landmark Abbey, now a Parish Church, with famous lantern tower.. Various hostelries, including the famous Angel, provide a warming end to our day in `Plum Country`.
