Exploring The Otter Estuary
The Otter Estuary covers 33 hectares. It is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) and is also a Marine Conservation Zone.
The area has recently benefited from a major project to return fresh water grazing marsh back to salt marsh.
The marsh has attracted around 120 species of birds that have been seen here.
A new network of footpaths crisscross the estuary and new bird watching areas have been installed around the site, so binoculars are a must.
