Easter on Ardnamurchan
Easter on Ardnamuchan
Ardnamurchan is a remote peninsula west of Fort William accessible by car using the Corran Ferry or by a long car journey from Locheilside or Inverailort near Mallaig. The peninsula has the most westerly point on the British mainland at Corrachadh Mor. The area is geologically interesting - the ring dyke at the end of the peninsula is a circular caldera (actually a Lopolith) about 4km across.
The area will give a good variety of coastal, hill and mountain walking over the weekend. The photographs are on Garbh Bhienn and Rois-Bhienn, two of the many interesting Corbetts in the area.
