Cheeks Hill and Axe Moor
Our walk will take us on to Axe Moor and Cheeks Hill, the highest point in Staffordshire. It’s the second of our county ‘highest points’ walks to celebrate GOC’s 50th.
For almost the whole of the time we’ll be walking on an exposed and wild landscape, leaving us open to whatever the weather throws at us. Despite all of the above the walk is not a difficult one – much is moderate or easy with just a few short climbs and descents. You must ensure that you are suitably booted and attired for the weather, which can change very quickly, and bring food and drink – you will mostly be surrounded by nothing other than moorland and with hopefully great views and a sense of being on top of the world.
Given the exposed terrain of the walk cancellation as a result of adverse weather conditions is a possibility. Please sign up to the walk so you can be kept updated on the walk's status. PLEASE NOTE THE START TIME OF 10:30.
