The Wyre Forest contains some of the largest areas of ancient woodland in Britain.
This 6 mile walk takes in some of the northern half of the Wyre Forest and adjoining countryside. From our starting point we descend to the Dowles Brook which we follow for about a mile before we leave it to climb gradually up and out of the forest into open countryside. After about a mile we re-enter the forest.
Weather permitting, there should be some far reaching views while we are in open countryside and with luck we should be able to enjoy early spring growth and flowers in the forest.
Come equipped with appropriate clothes, protection and footwear for the weather. Boots and, where needed, walking poles, are recommended.
