Axbridge, Somerset and the Strawberry Line
Walk the iconic Strawberry Line from Cheddar to the Shute Shelve Tunnel, with a couple of detours to take in the long views across the Somerset Levels and the medieval square at Axbridge.
This is a there-and back eight-mile walk, taking us west from Cheddar along the level Strawberry Line, past the 13th Century, Church of St John the Baptist, Axbridge, across the A371 to climb a short distance onto the escarpment for the views and a short break. We'll then descend to the Strawberry Line to follow it to the Shute Shelve Tunnel and a lunch stop.
You must carry food and drink for the two breaks for this walk and wear stout footwear.
