After a short walk through Atherstone we’ll ascend through the ‘Outwoods’ and on to Hartshill Hayes Country Park and return via the tow-path of the Coventry canal. Weather permitting there’s a chance of superb views over four counties from our lunch stop. Our walk will take us through open country and leafless woodland.   Please bring food and drink as well as suitable ‘gear’ for winter walking. There’s plenty of free parking around the town with a large car-park by the Bus Station on Station Street. Overall the distance for this moderate walk will be around 7½ miles.
