Ashprington and Sharpham
This is a pleasant 6 mile long walk through the quiet countryside of the Sharpham Estate. There are views of the River Dart almost the entire way. Some of the land is being rewilded by the Sharpham Estate and there are some information boards pointing out bird life which may be spotted.
We will leave Totnes on the 'lower' path which keeps close to the river. We will pass through fields and woodland and close to reed beds. The path can be muddy and there are a few stiles to climb over. At one point there is a short flight of steep wooden steps. There is one steep climb near to Sharpham House.
At the village of Ashsprington we will stop for lunch. There is a Community Orchard which is ideal for picnics.
After lunch we will have a quick walk around the village and then head to Totnes back along the higher path. This path has a gravel and tarmac surface the entire way but also has a steep climb.
