Abingdon & Sutton Courtenay: 7 mile ramble with pub lunch.
Tracing the footpath beside River Thames, where it (unusually) flows west before skirting the town of Abingdon, we then head south to the picturesque village of Sutton Courtenay, home to a P.M. Herbert Asquith - we can search for his grave in the church cemetery, with the grave of the famous writer Eric Blair (not his pen-name). We might also bump into famous (living) personages of the entertainment world. Near the end of the walk we can call into a pub (bar meals and restaurant) close to the start.
