A walk through the history of Sitges 2026
On the Monday of GOC goes to Sitges 2026, Agisitges will offer A walk through Sitges’ history:
"A walk through the history of Sitges is a guided tour that invites us to discover the evolution of this Mediterranean town from its origins to the present day. The itinerary covers the center, the expansion area, and the old town of Sitges, showcasing its architectural, artistic, and cultural richness.
In the first part of the tour, we will discover the origin of modern Sitges, with its new expansion area and the elegant houses of the “americanos”, which beautified the town in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, thanks to the fortune they had made in the former colonies.
In the second part, we will visit the oldest part of Sitges: Carrer Major, Plaça de l’Ajuntament (Town Hall Square) —where the old castle once stood—, the parish church, the walls, Carrer d’en Bosch, and Sant Sebastià beach.
And finally, in the third part, we will discover the artists and collectors who turned Sitges into a meeting point for intellectuals and transformed the old town into a true cultural landmark. We will visit the exteriors of Palau Maricel, the Maricel Museum, the Cau Ferrat Museum, and learn about figures such as Santiago Rusiñol, Miquel Utrillo, and Charles Deering."
Bookings will open on 1 July - please book as early as possible and by Friday 16 October at the latest. Up to 20 paid tickets will be available for each tour at £10 each.
