This is a lovely riverside walk between the pleasant Thameside towns of Henley-on-Thames and Marlow, continuing to Bourne End station. The walk passes through attractive Chiltern countryside and three of our historic home counties. The walk leader will lead the full walk to Bourne End (11 miles), but the walk can easily be curtailed at Marlow (8 miles) should people wish.

On leaving the centre of Henley, we cross the 18th century stone bridge across the Thames, thus passing from Oxfordshire into Berkshire. Shortly afterwards we will ascend Remenham Hill to the highest point of the walk, from  where there should be good views over the Thames Valley. We then descend to the river valley and follow the south bank of the River Thames eastwards. At Hurley Lock we pass along a narrow island between two streams of the river, before crossing a footbridge from the south to the north bank into Buckinghamshire. We will then follow the north bank into Marlow. The final section of the walk continues along the Thames to Bourne End station.
