An exploration of part of the northern end of the Chilterns AONB, mostly through rolling farmland, with some wonderful views across the flat lands to the north, especially if the air is clear. We will also pass close to a fine Tudor manor house. Sightings of red kites and buzzards are common. We will walk a small part of the Icknield Way and visit Pegsdon Hills & Hoo Bit Nature Reserve.

The route features two short steep inclines, one with deep, uneven steps.  There are no stiles on the route.  The route crosses one fast road twice, near blind-spots.  Fields will hold livestock: please keep dogs on leads.  There is uneven ground in some places.  Most of the route is exposed.

Wear sturdy boots.  Alternatively, if the weather has been dry for 48 continuous hours prior to the start time, sturdy trainers should suffice.

Bring packed lunch, lots of water (especially if either a sunny or a windy day), something to sit on, face covering and hand sanitiser.

Depending on regulations in force at the time, there may be an optional pub visit at the end.
