A 7 mile circular walk from Glynde village to the top of Mount Caburn and across to the cliff overlooking Lewes then back across Saxon Downs. This route is slightly shorter than normal for us and includes some moderate hills, with the payback of some spectacular views.

Mount Caburn is a distinctive local landmark standing at 470 feet above sea level, overlooking Glynde with steep slopes to three sides. It was previously an Iron Age hill fort or religious site with over 140 known burial plots.

Please bring drinks and a packed lunch for yourself. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and terrain. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads whenever near livestock, on roads or requested by the walk leader.

This event will go ahead if Covid regulations at the time allow.

BOOKING: Advance booking is required. The event is of course free of charge. All attendees must be either full GOC members or have a free trial online membership, to support NHS Track and Trace. If you have difficulty booking then contact the Sussex Group Coordinators at [email protected], or you can contact the Event Organiser using the message box below. Thank you.
