The Hebridean Cycle Way 2020 - Cancelled
Due to COVID 19, this event is now cancelled as most of the accommodation is now not proposing to open at all in 2020.
The meet will be moved to 2021 - Sat 14th August to Sunday 22nd August with the same itinerary if possible.
The Hebridean Cycle Way is a new route covering 185 miles, across 10 islands through the Outer Hebrides Archipelago. Starting in Vatersay, South of Barra, we will cycle the entire length of the Archipelago, over 7 days, visiting the mythic Callanish stones in Lewis after we’ve bagged the north coast, Port of Ness and the Butt of Lewis lighthouse.
A deposit of £50, payable to GOC below will secure your place.
Places are limited to eight, at least initially. This will be a manageable size of group of differing abilities and for the available accommodation (which is limited) space on ferries, trains etc.
The itinerary is given in the members only section below.
Your bike - a road touring bike with low gears will be best, although a hybrid or a mountain bike with road tyres will do the job. A lightweight road bike will also suffice, provided is adapted to carry luggage.
The weather on the Western Isles can be changeable at any time of year, so have warm clothes to change into, hat and gloves, good waterproofs.
Full details are available to members only
