Riverside walk from Shincliffe, South of Durham
Attractive eight-mile riverside walk from the village of Shincliffe, just South of Durham. The route is surprisingly varied - following paths along the Wear and the Browney rivers - but also striking out into forest/woodland and across open countryside. Amongst highlights, we'll pass the Croxdale Hall Haybarn - described by Pevsner as "one of the best agricultural buildings in the county". The walk is accessible by public transport and is dog-friendly.
