Nestled in a beautiful and quiet valley, Launde Abbey was an Augustinian priory. Thomas Cromwell, Henry VIII's chief minister and responsible for the dissolution of the monastries, bought Launde Priory but never lived in it. However is son Gregory did and he built the beautiful Tudor House we see today.
