  • TerrainThe walk is mostly on good gravel or paved paths, however, we will be crossing some grassy fields, so be prepared if it has been rainy for the possibility of a bit of mud. The terrain around Bollington is best described as undulating. The only part of this walk that might be considered strenuous will be climbing the series of steps up to White Nancy. Otherwise expect relatively gentle climbs and descents. There are styles on the route.

A 7-mile circular walk in the hills above the Bollington. The walk will take us from the heart of Bollington along a short stretch of the Macclesfield canal between Clarence Mill and Adelphi Mill. We leave the canal at a photogenic bridge next to Beehive Cottage and head into Kerridge where we will climb the steps up to the viewpoint known as White Nancy. We follow part of the Kerridge Ridge before descending to Rainow and on to the hamlet of Rainowlow. At this point we will begin our return to Bollington via the picturesque Harrop valley.
