I am hoping to do the Tour Du Mont Blanc (TMB) Summer 2017 and, currently, soliciting general interest. My planned dates are the first two weeks in July e.g. 8 - 22 July 2017. I reckon a party-size of 6-8 max.
The TMB is 170km long with 10,000 metres of ascent and is usually trekked in 11 daily stages, travelling through three countries - France, Switzerland and Italy.
I will be doing the anti-clockwise route, start/finish Les Houches, just South of Chamonix (bus ride from Geneva Airport), staying in predominantly mountain huts (average price of £37pppn half-board), with possibly a mid-route treat in a B&B.
This is a tough and challenging trip that you will need to prepare for as you will be carrying your own kit over high passes. Normal Adventure Out weekends should give you an idea of whether this is for you or not i.e. 2/3 days of consecutive hiking and scrambling up some of Britain's bigger hills in Scotland, the Lakes and North Wales - will give you an idea.
I am not a qualified mountain leader so you will be responsible for your own safety and well-being. I am, however, happy to organise and facilitate the bookings for the Rifugios' and arrival and departure accommodation. Geneva well served by British airports and discount airlines. I can also advise on kit and training for the trip. You will need insurance as emergency rescue can prove quite expensive - check with your holiday insurer to make sure they don't have a limit on altitude rescue. I would also need 'In Case of Emergency' details ie partner/next of kin etc.
