In the wake of storm D our brave band of 18 plus dog set off on a sunny but very blustery day; from Herston we climbed up to the Priests Way to enjoy commanding views of Swanage Bay. Continuing on towards the Jurassic Coast at Belle Vue Cliffs we glimpsed Corfe Castle in the distance up the valley.
Embarking on a muddy and windy trecherous cliff path we eventually reached the Lighthouse at Anvil Point. A steep descent and ascent led us to a cliff top embankment and onto Durlston Castle.
After some time exploring the castle and facilities we returned across Durlston Country Park into Townsend Nature Reserve to enjoy a sumptuous Xmas Tea back in Herston
