Kingley Vale near Chichester
The choice of a longer walk (7 miles) or a shorter one (4 miles) taking in the amazing ancient yew forest of Kingley Vale, led by the Sussex group.
From the car park it's a walk of about a mile along gravelled path to the yew tree trail. We'll stop for coffee amongst the ancient yews and then walk on out of the nature reserve. The longer walk will divide here and the shorter walk returns to the car park whilst the longer route climbs up to the Monarch Way. From here it will go down into the attractive village of Stoughton before taking an uphill path back to Kingley Vale and the car park. Mainly good paths with the possibility of muddy patches.
Please bring a packed lunch and drinks to keep you going for the walk. Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and terrain. Dogs are welcome if kept on leads whenever near livestock, on roads or if requested by the walk leader.
