An 8 mile walk from Wharfedale to the top of Great Whernside with views over to Nidderdale.  The walk starts up a track through limestone territory, before contouring along Tor Dyke with a final climb over the peat moors to Great Whernside.  From here there are views over into Nidderdale.  The return is via a path passing Hag Dyke.

Equipment:  walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
