
Edale Valley, Lose Hill and Mam Tor (Derbyshire)
An 8 mile walk with spectacular views both within and over the Edale valley. The walk is a circular route climbing Mam Tor and then proceeding along the ridge to Hollins Cross, Back Tor, and Lose Hill before returning to Edale along the valley. This is a moderately tough walk with a total ascent about 1800ft. The views over the Edale valley on one side, and towards Castleton on the other are superb. Opportunity at the finish for a pub stop at the Rambler Inn or tea at the café next to the station, the Penny Pot.
Food / Drink: please bring a packed lunch and something to drink.
Equipment: walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing, hat and gloves. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used.
