Transpennine

Transpennine is a large and highly active GOC group based in the North of England. Our region encompasses a vast swathe of fascinating and diverse landscape stretching coast to coast from Lancashire & Cheshire in the west to Yorkshire in the east and taking in much of the Pennines, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors plus all the lesser-known vales and hills in between.

To cover this enormous area we organise a large selection of interesting walks and cycle rides of varied length and hardness. Most walks are held on Sundays though in the Cheshire area they tend to be on the second Saturday of each month. In Summer we also arrange some short evening walks followed by a social drink. For the more adventurous we have monthly hostel or camping weekends where members can socialise and enjoy visiting areas further afield such as the Lake District and North Wales.

Our friends at Northern Wave Swimming Club run swimming evenings on Tuesdays at Moss Side Leisure Centre, Manchester and on Sundays at the Manchester Aquatics Centre.
