Transpennine

Transpennine, one of the larger and longer established GOC groups, is based in the North of England, and encompasses a huge area of diverse and interesting landscape stretching coast to coast from Lancashire & Cheshire in the west to Yorkshire in the east and taking in much of the Pennines, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors plus all the lesser-known vales and hills in between.

To cover this region we organise a large selection of walks and cycle rides of differing length and hardness. Most are held on Sundays though in the Cheshire area the walks tend to be on the second Saturday of the month. In Summer we also arrange some short evening walks followed by a drink. For the more adventurous we have monthly hostel or camping weekends where members can socialise and enjoy walking in areas further afield such as the Lake District and Wales.

Swimming evenings are run by our friends at Northern Wave Swimming Club at Moss Side Leisure Centre on Tuesdays and at the Manchester Aquatics Centre on Sundays.
