There are two ways you can join GOC:
If you are logged in as a Guest, you can join GOC online and be instantly upgraded to Member access. This is the only way to apply for Web membership. If you don't yet have a guest account, you will need to create one first.
You can pay by cheque or direct debit by downloading a membership form in PDF format and posting it to us.
To get involved with GOC it is best to create a profile on the site, which is free and simple. By logging in to your profile you will be able to see more of the site than if you are not logged in (see our Features page for details of what you can see). You can also subscribe to your local group to receive mailings from them to remind you of forthcoming events. To register just click the link on the right of this page.
GOC is a not-for-profit members club and all subscriptions go to cover its costs (no-one gets paid or takes a profit from the club). Joining shows your support for the club and there are lots of other reasons for you to join:
Gives all of the membership benefits described above to one person or to two people at one address (joint membership). Joint members receive one copy of Outdoors but may have two web profiles. The annual cost is £18 (individual) or £26 (joint).
Gives all of the membership benefits described above with the exception of Outdoors magazine, to one person or to two people at one address (joint membership). You will receive no post from GOC - Information about the club and its events will be found on this website, and we will send you e-mails about important club business. The annual cost is £12 (individual) or £20 (joint) and you can only join online.
If you cannot read the membership form, or would prefer a printed membership pack, please request it from our New Members' Enquiries using our Contact page (remembering to include your address).
We will tell you when your membership is due to expire. You can renew any time up to 90 days before the expiry date in either of two ways:
Please note that it is not possible to change from individual to joint membership (or vice-versa) during online renewal - if you wish to do so please contact the Membership Secretary before renewing.
