North Wales

The North Wales GOC is a very active, very friendly group of gay men, lesbians, bi-sexuals of all ages. With over 100 members we engage in many activities. Although our main focus is walking, we also have offered abseiling, underground exploration, scrambling, and camping and youth hostel trips. We also hold pub social nights and other indoor socialising events.

Events are held across the large North Wales area from Snowdonia to the coastal strip, from Anglesey to the Clwydians.

For more information regarding the North Wales GOC drop a line using the contact page, or by phone on 01 244 579 5 23.

In January 2010 our group featured in a BBC radio 4 recording. So we are famous now.

Starting in the picturesque village of Beddgelert our walk first headed to the famous Gelert's grave....

Enjoying the industrial heritage of the Clywedog Valley

21 Oct 2014 | North Wales Group

All Wales Hostel Weekend, Blaenavon - Penwythnos Cymru Gyfan, Blaenafon

15 Sep 2014 | North Wales, South Wales, West Wales Groups

The All Wales Hostel Weekend visited the Heads of the Valleys in South Wales this year, staying at a hostel created out of the former Welfare Hall of the now extinct village of Pwll Du, Blaenavon. The view towards Abergavenny and the Sugar Loaf and Skirrid beyond was spectacular; with the derelict industrial landscape of Blaenavon to the rear....

40 Years - Carry On up the Khyber!

18 Aug 2014 | North Wales Group

It all started 40 years ago with a weekend camping in Snowdonia, so we felt it only appropriate that to celebrate the anniversary we take a stroll to the summit of the highest mountain in England and Wales, the mighty Snowdon.

Our route of choice was the quieter Watkin Path, the South Face of Yr Wyddfa....
