Hi Gang,
Another one of those "watching the increasingly deteriorating weather forecast" - To coincide with Paul's planned walk.
As the days approached Wednesday - so the colliding rain fronts seemed to be waiting. But surprisingly as Paul and I fronted the Town Hall, Woodstock, Oxon we found already six regular members there in the drizzle to meet us, all expecting a walk!!!
Not to disappoint, we set of down through the town, through the lower FREE pedestrian gate into a very misty atmospheric Blenhem Park. Keeping to the drives we soon reached the bridge with the Palace "grey against grey" as the rain increased.
A check of "Harry Potters Tree" the well before retracing our steps back to the County Museum Cafe for drinks, nibbles and conversation. Andrew W and Chris decided to remain to explore the museum. The rest of us ventured out of the snugg interior to face the near gale force rain and wind to cross to "The Woodstock Arms PH" for lunch. True the menu didn't look promising, but once the meals arrived we could have eaten the lot.
After more chattering we dispersed back into the rain to our buses and transport. I returned to the museum, checking the security cameras confirmed that Andrew W was still in the building. We made further discoveries before facing the inevitable external elements, which seemed worse. Back to the van to consume a home made pasty and loads of profiteroles.
So "All in All" I am sure each member got their own pleasures from the wide range of activities encountered throughout the day.
Thanks again to Paul for all the organisation, and our regular members for making the effort to venture out into what the weather forecast had predicted. Bill
