A small group of us from the Reading spent an enjoyable Sunday at Woodcote Steam Rally. The weather was fine and we were able to see and also closely inspect a wide varierty of vehicles including steam engines which in the past had been used in a variety of different categories, farm tractors, steam engines for hauling heavy loads such as stone and gravel.  There was also a good display of old historic cars more than 40 years old. In addition there were old military vehicles and a couple of buses - one from Reading in its original colours. There were plenty of craft stalls and a jolly local group that entertained with jolly tunes as we had our lunch and some good beer from local breweries. A pleasant day out and we will look for further similar opportunities.
