Ten of us met for a pre show meal at Nandos in Islington before heading to the Kings Head Theatre to see the show Northbound Boy. This tells a story of conflict resolution, family dynamics, age-gap gay relationships, self-acceptance, drug abuse, homophobia, and daddy issues. It had been floated as a gay comedy and in some way there was some light comedy. It was well acted and an enjoyable evening and I am sure a number of us will have been able to relate to a number of the issues raised in the play.
This was the first time the Berkshire and Mid Thames Group had organised a London theatre visit and it is something we will try again.
