The sun had his hat on for the Surrey walk today

Fourteen members joined us on a beautiful 9 mile linear walk from Dorking to Gomshall , expertly led by Adrian.

We arrived to Gomshall, with beautiful blue skies where we took a lovely little green GWR train to Dorking Deepdene, where our walk began.

As we passed a lake with trees aplenty, we noticed the blue skies had become somewhat covered by grey rain clouds and before you could say umbrella, the heavens opened and soaked us. Luckily the majority of us had waterproof coats with us, so we quickly took cover under the trees and prepared ourselves in our jackets.

But we needn’t had worried as it was only a ten minute burst of rain and then the sun joined us once more and stayed above us for the majority of the walk.

With glorious views of the Surrey Hills, it was certainly a walk that made us grateful to be alive! Arriving back to Gomshall, we partook in coffee, tea and cakes. And we were treated today to six offerings from the bakers amongst our group. And very delicious they were indeed!  Paul Hollywood would have found it hard to find fault with any of the bakes!
