An eventful day of weather that started cloudy but dry as we started off on our blue plaque journey around Exmouth to view 31 sites.
Fifteen Devon GOC members met up to discover the history and the people that make up the Exmouth that we see today.
We covered around eight plaques when the weather intervened and after a while it become apparent that we would need to shelter from the heavy driving rain. Thankfully we were close to the town centre and abandoned our walk and ventured into a café for a bite to eat and a chance for the rain to pass by.
Around forty minutes later the weather did relent and we were able to resume our walk this time in sunshine. After visiting several more sites we arrived on the seafront to be greeted by a strong wind that blew up sand into our faces which was unfortunate as we had planned to stop at a café next to the beach with only outside seating. Clearly this was not going to work as planned due to the high wind and we decided that we best continue on with the walk to see several more sites along the seafront and towards the town centre, finishing close to our starting point.
However wet we got during the day at least we had dried out by the end!!!
May l thank everyone who came along, even though it was eventful, we still managed to enjoy ourselves.
