Seven members and two dogs took the Tor tour on New Year’s Eve to meet GOC Chair, Jim Cornwell, at the summit for a GOC-50th-year, celebratory photograph. It was a lovely walk of five parts and no rain as forecast. We walked the Beckery passing buildings that housed Glastonbury’s former leather industry. Then we clambered up Wearyal Hill for the splendid views and on to climb the Tor for a celebratory dram and our photoshoot. Our next part was the pretty and pretty muddy bit, descending to Glastonbury High Street and refreshment at the George & Pilgrims’ Inn. A good time was had by all.
