Llanharan

A splendid walk led by Garry and Mark. Leaving Llanharan Railway Station and heading through Brynna Woods before heading back through the village of Brynna and up via Llanbad Fawr on to the hills above the village.  We joined the old Parish Road and stopped for lunch near the ruins of St Peter’s Church, with splendid views out over the Bristol Channel.  We headed down through Smaelog Woods, re-joining the village at Llanharan House.  We were invited back to Garry’s for tea, coffee and some delicious cake.  What a treat!

Arweiniodd Garry a Mark ni ar daith ddiddorol yn cychwyn o Orsaf Rheilffordd Llanharan.  Wedi gadael yr orsaf crwydrodd y grŵp drwy Goed Brynna, cyn cychwyn ar y daith heibio i Lanbad Fawr i’r bryniau uwchben.  Wedi ymuno â hen ffordd y Plwy’ daeth y grŵp o hyd i lecyn gerllaw adfeilion Eglwys Sant Pedr i fwyta brechdanau ac i fwynhau’r olygfa ar draws Môr Hafren.  Crwydrodd y grŵp yn ôl drwy Goed Garthmaelwg, cyn ail ymuno â’r pentre’ ger Plas Llanharan.  Diolch i Garry am y gwahoddiad i’r grŵp am de bach yn ei gartre’ clud.  Roedd pawb wrth eu boddau.
