Les Arcs March 2020
There was 11 of us in total for the week from 8th - 15th March who travelled from various airports from the UK. We all met up at the lovely chalet Mckinley in Arc 2000 at various times of the day on the Sunday afternoon, evening. The hosts who were by Ski Esprit were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful showing and giving us a hand with our luggage to our chalet. We were all put in allocated rooms and most of the rooms were the same size with a balcony or window. We all sat down for our Sunday evening meal and started to welcome each other and get to know one another.
There was a wide arrange of ability's in the group from beginner to expert. The next morning we had sunny weather with almost perfect condition's and all split into smaller groups for the day but then met up later in the day.
The week was mixed weather and heavy snow to start with which made excellent powder for the first few days before it warmed up in the week with plenty of sunshine. Towards the end of the week we were having concerns that there were more cases of Covid 19 in the valley and the last day in the resort they were only letting half the people get on the cable car to the top of the Aiguille Rouge which was concerning but wow it was worth it for our last day skiing for the views and fantastic snow.
On the Saturday night we were told the resort was going into lock down and the pubs and restaurants were closing. We were all lucky enough to get back to the airport and get flights back home to the UK with no problems.
Overall we had a fantastic week and were very lucky to get the last week of the season in skiing and the chalet had fantastic facilities with a shared swimming pool and sauna and even a gym!
Lets hope we can go next season in 2021! Fingers crossed!
