A gloriously sunny Sunday saw fifteen members, two guests and Nancy the dog complete a six mile circular walk beginning at Exeter Quay.
We walked along the canal and through Riverside Valley Park. We crossed the canal twice, at the Double Locks pub and the Swing Bridge.
We had lunch at the ‘village green’ in Countess Wear, a small riverside park. A few local residents were creating a flower meadow which was of interest to some in our group.
The return walk took us past old Lime Kilns and a Paper Mill, all part of Exeter’s industrial heritage.
When we reached the Quay the sunny weather had bought the crowds out making it hard to find a venue with enough seats for all of us.
Some members finished the walk with a pint in the pub, and some stuck to the traditional coffee and cake in a local café.

Many thanks to Alan for researching and leading this walk and for the event report.
