Circular Walk at Knowl Hill

Seventeen of us gathered at the Bird in Hand Pub at Knowl on a dry and sunny evening for a circular walk into the woods and fields abundant in these parts of Berkshire . We were fortunate in having only one or two muddy patches and these were traversed without incident although cameras were at the ready in case anything untoward was to happen!!! Otherwise the ground was reasonably dry despite recent rain. At this time of year there was the occasional glimpse of bluebells and the sun managed to shine through the light canopy of leaves on the beech tree just beginning to open in to full leaf.

The circular walk ended where we started at the Bird in Hand where we all tucked into an enjoyable and hearty meal. So hearty in fact that we could not finish an extra portion of fish and chips given to us free of charge!

Three new walkers, Anne, Daniel and Jacques also joined us for their first walk and we hope to see them again at future events.
