Hi Gang,
Well didn't he do well - yet again!!!
My list of potential members attending our Annual Exploration reached 31 - partly due to flu and very cold conditions on the day the final numbers were a more manageable 23 - most taking the advice to travel by train from as far as S London, W Midlands, Cheltenham and Bristol.
We set off towards the old Castle and prison, exploring Lutyens only building. Balancing those who wanted to explore more with Andrew's onwards route. We soon caught up at Tom Tower, Christchurch which would become a marker point as we explored Christchurch Meadow.
Some thought Andrew would head down to the main entrance - he had other plans - and took them down to Folly Bridge with the almost secret bridge and narrow gate on to the Christchurch Meadow Thames Path around into the River Cherwell.
Passing The Botanical Gardens, High St and back alley we were soon back behind Christchurch. St Mary's Parish Church, Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian brought us to our lunch stop.
Unfortunately the pub had oven problems so we split up to find out own food stops, some went on their way, others caught up with us at the Ashmolean Museum.
Andrew has already been warned that our next Exploration is planned for Jan 2027. Should you wish to have a more in-person walk with Andrew around the City - he didn't think it wise inviting all of us to his "interesting home - so contact him for a more personal exploration.
