Following the October board meeting, I am delighted to announce that the position of Member Engagement officer has been filled by David Millar. David works tirelessly behind the scenes both with our marketing team and as Group Coordinator of our History and Culture group. I am sure that in his new role, he will be a great asset to the club.
However, we still have three vacancies. First, at the AGM in July Graeme Brown stepped down from his position as Returning Officer. So having thanked him for his ten years of service, we need to replace him. The post will suit a competent administrator who invariably attends the Annual Outdoor Gathering. Please note also that the Returning Officer must not be a member of the board. We have received one expression of interest, but if anyone else would like to be considered for this role, please contact me as soon as you can.
The second vacancy is for a Partnership Officer. We are looking to appoint a person with experience in marketing to maintain and expand the club’s relationship with associated clubs, groups and other organisations. The role may also include contact with potential partner organisations who have a specific focus on race and disability.
Finally, we wish to create a new post of National Events Officer. This position mainly concerns our Annual Outdoor Gathering, (AOG) which the club holds each summer. The AOG brings together new and existing members over a long weekend and incorporates the club’s Annual General Meeting. The AOG is the highlight of our year. It reflects and states to our membership, who we are and what we do. Coming together to meet new and old members in a relaxed, friendly, and happy environment which is so important for everyone associated with the club. We are looking to appoint someone, ideally with experience and knowledge of the event, who can head up the planning, organising and relevant administration required.
