This is a justifiably popular walk, linking the prosperous leafy suburbs of Wimbledon and Richmond. Both GOC London and Surrey have walked versions of it on several occasions. The walk couldn't be more convenient for transport, with frequent rail, underground and bus services available at the start and end of the walk. Despite starting and finishing in built up pleasant areas of outer London, it largely crosses continuous green space. Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park in Southwest London on several occasions. Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park are amongst the largest urban green spaces in the world; Richmond Park being three times the size of New York City's Central Park. Both spaces are important for nature, including insect life and rare bogland.
