A short country walk to build up our appetites, followed by Christmas lunch at The Blacksmith's Arms in Cudham, an attractive unpretentious North Downs pub with decent food. The whole walk lies within Greater London, although in historical Kent.

The pub has carpeted floors, and the management would appreciate it if people either removed or covered their walking boots on arrival. It would be a good idea to bring some indoor footwear.
