Hogmanay in Royal Deeside (Braemar)

For this year's Hogmanay, we will be returning to the National Trust for Scotland's Mar Lodge in Royal Deeside, not far from Braemar.

We have booked one of the larger apartments in the lodge, which takes up one of the wings of the building.  The accommodation is very comfortable with a selection of twin and double rooms and, while only one of the rooms has an en-suite bathroom, there are plenty of other bathrooms serving the other rooms.  There is a large sitting/dining room, plus there is access to a billiards room shared with the other apartments.

The lodge is not far from the Linn of Dee, where most of the walks into the Southern Cairngorms start.  There is an easily accessible Corbett just out of the back door and there are plenty of low level valley walks in the area.
