An iconic linear walk along the cliffs from Dover to Folkestone and a walk I've done many times.

We will start in the parking lot at the Western Heights Viewpoint with an excellent outlook over Dover Harbour.  Points of interest along the way include the Knights Templar Church and The Citadel at the start of the walk in Dover... excellent views out over Samphire Hoe, the country park created on land reclaimed using the spoil excavated while making the Channel Tunnel... and the Battle of Britain Memorial including Harry Gray's excellent sculpture of a seated pilot.

There is a cafe at the Battle of Britain Memorial and depending on the weather and the mood of the group the walk may end here or carry on down into Folkestone itself where there are numerous pubs and cafes.

Return to the start is easiest by bus, with service every 15 minutes from Folkestone and the Battle of Britain Memorial.  Alternatively trains run every 30 minutes from Folkestone Central Station.  Both bus and train run to Dover Priory Station which is a short walk from the parking lot where we start from.
