A varied 7 mile walk (with options for a 3 or a 4 mile walk) from Didsbury to Reddish along the Mersey Valley, through the urban centre of Stockport and along the scenic & wooded Reddish Vale, returning  by public transport to the start.  The route is largely on good paths and tracks and so will hopefully be not too muddy even following wet weather.   Apart from the short section through Stockport town centre it is a surprisingly green route considering that it's within Greater Manchester.  In Reddish Vale we walk on an old railway line through woods looking down on to the River Tame Valley.
