This is a circular walk of about 7.5 miles on a relatively flat route on good surfaces, on the Cardiff Bay Trail, joining the trail shortly before the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
The route allows stunning views across the Bay, and passes Mermaid Quay, the Senedd Building, the Cardiff Wetlands Area, and various environments and features of historical significance of the formerly bustling Cardiff docks. We will see how the area continues to be regenerated, passing the International Sports Village, including the International Pool complex and the International White Water site.
In keeping with the urban nature of this walk, and the popularity of Cardiff Bay and its visitors, it cannot be described as a tranquil walk!, but it will hopefully provide new views and a new understanding of Cardiff Bay, and the chance to socialise with other members. Please note the start time of 11 am.
